Superbill Support

You may be able to get reimbursements for sessions through out-of-network benefits

Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, which means you initially pay for your therapy services (cash, credit, check, etc.). After receiving the superbill from me, you can submit it for reimbursement a percentage of the fee.

What is a superbill?

How this works

Step 1:

Verifying out-of-network benefits with your insurance.

Contact your insurance and share my practice information to see if they offer out-of-network reimbursement benefits. Feel free to email me with any additional information needed.

A superbill is an itemized receipt of services provided by an out-of-network clinician. You then provide to your insurance provider for reimbursement, some allow you to submit online while others require it to be mailed/faxed.

Step 2:

Submit a superbill

A “superbill” is the paperwork you submit to your insurance to get reimbursed for services. I’ll share one with you on a monthly basis for you to send to your insurance.

Step 3:

Get reimbursed

This part can vary, depending on your insurance, both for percentage of the fee and timeline for reimbursement. I recommend asking your insurance for an estimated turnaround time.

Things to consider and check with your insurance:

  • What portion of the fee your insurance will reimburse

  • Any limitations on the number of sessions allowed
