Hello and welcome! I’m Alizée.
I am a Pre-Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate providing therapy to children, families, and adults under the supervision of Amy Beek (LW60800048).
I have a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. During my undergraduate I worked under Dr. King at Western Washington University in the multicultural psychology research. I spent five years working with children and families in our community, providing behavioral rehabilitation services. During my clinical practicum I had the joy of providing equine therapy to youth and adults. My clinical therapeutic approach is person-centered, adlerian, and humanistic.
I work with a range of issues including trauma, ADHD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and major life transitions. I have enjoyed working in a variety of settings, including home based behavioral support for families and nature therapy. I meet every client with the same compassion and go into our therapeutic relationship with the same four goals:
Being your ally: I aim to understand how you see the world, so my support can be based on your worldview, culture, and personal values, and intersectional identity. We explore the systems that impact your life.
Providing Unconditional Positive Regard: You deserve to be treated as a human capable of great emotions. Every part of you is worthy of space.
Helping you take action: Together, we will take action by practicing skills, strategies, self-advocacy. We would do so with careful intention and consideration of your nervous system and capacity.
Empowering your autonomy: We follow your goals and respect the pace you are comfortable with in session. I will advocate for your freedom and agency.
Get to know me
I am passionate about my work, about building authentic relationships, and enjoy doing so using humor and optimism. I strive to find ways to make things joyful. I find my work tied to how the world is doing, and people are struggling right now. It is important to be able to sit in the negative feelings-they are information. I believe there is so much strength in finding community and standing up for our neighbors. Dismantling the harmful systems of oppression that every individual faces and working on my own cultural competencies are central to my work. My own journey through grief, identity, and mental health introduced me to the world of self-compassion and immense compassion for others. Joining you on your own journey is an honor and commitment I take to heart.
Outside of work, I am in the outdoors any way I can be. I am likely with my dogs, either gardening, hiking, swimming, snowshoeing, or paddleboarding. I appreciate the beauty around me with painting and drawing. Inside, I love to read, cook and make recipes, play board games, and play video games of all kinds. While all these can be therapeutic at times, nothing helps me more than the right playlist.
